Funny that Apple Maps shows the “Philadelphia Phantoms” here. That’s where the Spectrum used to be but was closed in 2009 and demolished soon after. It is now a parking lot.

Love it or hate it, the My Disney Experience app gets used A LOT when you are at WDW. So here is a little tip to make it easy and fast to launch by just tapping the back of your phone.

Part 1: Make a Shortcut

1. Open the “Shortcuts” app on your phone.

2. Tap the + in the top right to create a new shortcut

3. Tap Add Action

4. Tap Scripting

5. Tap Open App

6. Tap on the light blue “App” at the top Scroll down and choose the Disney World app

7. At the top of the screen, tap the little down arrow and choose rename

8. Type “Open MDE”

9. Tap done

Part 2: Settings

1. Go back to the Home Screen and choose settings

2. Select accessibility

3. Select “Touch”

4. Scroll down and choose “back tap”

5. Tap “triple tap”

6. Scroll down and under the shortcuts section, choose the “Open MDE” shortcut we created above

7. Go back to the Home Screen

Now, tap the back of your phone three times to quickly launch the My Disney Experience app. This will work even if your phone is in another app or locked (though you will be prompted to authenticate with faceid/touchid etc)

The AirPods Pro 2 noise canceling is amazing. Not amazing just for earbuds, amazing even against over ear headphones.

So this is pretty neato. One of my partners at work also has Disney as a client, and has worked with the Walt Disney archives to create a VR version of Walt’s office. It was really well done.
